Spring Selling Season Finishes with a Flurry

The traditionally hot spring selling season has ended with a bang for regional and rural real estate group, Landmark Harcourts.

Chief Executive Officer, Darren Cole says that the group has achieved several significant sales over the past few months and that their sales volumes have steadily risen throughout the year.

“Collendina Station in Corowa (near Albury) sold last week under the hammer for $7,050,000. With over 100 people in attendance and 12 registered bidders at the auction, this increased level of activity is a sign of a rural real estate market which is regaining confidence,” Mr Cole said.

In 2011, Phil Rourke of Landmark Harcourts New South Wales who recently won the REINSW Rural Marketing Awards for Excellence, reported sales in excess of $270 million in rural property, with two recent sales totalling over $20 million.

Earlier this year, Simon McIntyre of Landmark Harcourts South Australia sold Munduny Station for in excess of $20 million, representing the highest recorded sales price over the last five years within South Australia.

Further to these record sales, Landmark Harcourts has recently opened offices in Warwick, Queensland and Wangaratta, Victoria, with Landmark Harcourts Wangaratta recording their best ever results in the first month of trading as Landmark Harcourts in Ryley Street.

Mr Cole suggests that the lifestyle and residential segments in regional Australia have experienced significant growth since the Landmark Harcourts joint venture commenced in May.

“Year on year, our results in the residential property segment has grown by 21 per cent, despite lower recorded sales volumes industry wide.

“One of the primary reasons for the growth in this market segment is our team’s focus on both franchising within the regional residential markets as well as the take up of the tools and training that has been brought to the joint venture from the Harcourts backend,” Mr Cole said.

“Our view is to build the best regional and rural estate brand in Australia.

“This means staying true to our heritage – being a strong force in the rural marketplace – whilst simultaneously expanding our focus to the residential and lifestyle markets within regional Australia,” Mr Cole continued.
